INVADERSRIVALS Play

Privacy policy

Last updated: November 3, 2026

Invaders Rivals (invadersrivals.io, and the Invaders Rivals Activity in Discord) is a free browser game run by an independent developer ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you play, why, how long we keep it, and your rights.

In short

What we collect, and why

Your team name

To play online you type a team name (16 characters at most). The other players and spectators in your room see it. If your room is public, the list of public rooms shows the host's name. Please don't use your real name or anything that identifies you.

In Discord: your Discord display name

In the Discord Activity, the game asks Discord for permission to read your basic profile (the identify scope) and uses your display name (or your username if you have no display name) as your team name. Our server uses the authorization once to read that name. It does not keep the access token, your Discord user ID, your avatar or anything else. It never asks for your email, your servers, your friends or your messages. If you refuse the permission, you type a team name instead. In Discord, your connection goes through Discord's proxy, so we don't see your IP address.

Match records

When an online room closes, our server writes a record of it. The record holds:

We use these records to fix bugs, to balance the game and to compute anonymous statistics (most played maps, invaders and weapons). They are deleted automatically after 90 days.

Anonymous visit counts

To know how many people find the game and how far they get, each browser tab tells our server, once per step, that it reached that step: a visit, the match page, a room, a match started, a match finished. With it go a few words: the page, whether you play on the website or in Discord, on a phone or a computer, online or on one PC, and for the visit the website you came from (for example reddit.com, never the full address). The server only adds these up into totals per day; it keeps no cookie, no identifier and no IP address with them, so they cannot be traced back to you. It uses your IP address for one minute, in memory, to ignore a flood of fake counts, then forgets it.

While you play

While a room is open, the server keeps its state in memory: the seats, the names and the commands of the match. It forgets them when the room closes, apart from the record above. Connecting to our server needs your IP address, as for any website. The game does not record it.

What is stored on your device

The game uses your browser's local storage, not cookies, for these conveniences. None of it is sent to us.

You can erase them at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Who else is involved

We don't sell, rent or share your data with anyone else, and the game loads nothing from other websites.

Legal basis

We process the team names, the match records and the anonymous visit counts because we have a legitimate interest in running the online game, keeping it fair and improving it. We read your Discord display name only with your permission, which you can refuse or withdraw in Discord's settings (Authorized Apps).

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you may ask us to access, correct or delete the data about you, or object to its use. Our records are not linked to an account, so please tell us the team name you used, the date and, if you have it, the room code. Write to us at contact@invadersrivals.io. If you think we have not respected your rights, you may also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).

Children

The game is not aimed at children under 13. In Discord, Discord's minimum age applies.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date.
